3 More Days of National Principals Month

With October winding down and November just around the corner, we prepare for the end of the 2018 National Principals Month. However, that doesn’t mean the month will end quietly! We still have some very exciting events left before November 1.

October 30, 3:00–4:00 p.m. (ET): Avoiding School Leadership Burnout

Hosted by NAESP

Principals begin their year with fresh ideas, innovative programming, and creative solutions to current challenges. Then, demands appear from all directions and the focus is often blurred or even lost. With all the expectations, how can principals successfully fulfill roles and responsibilities, maintain a balanced personal life, and avoid burnout? What essential techniques are needed to ensure positive energy is freely flowing through the principal, into the hallways, and throughout the community of learners? Answers are a click away, so join this interactive webinar and learn proven techniques to maintain a rewarding career as a school leader.

October 31, 5:00–6:00 p.m. (ET): Fostering Student Success Through Administrator Data Literacy

Hosted by New Leaders

Administrators are in charge of building a culture that supports and serves all students. And while leaders have data on the challenges and successes of their schools and districts, they don’t always have the time, training, and tools to act on this information. The Data Quality Campaign (DQC) recently released a report that highlights why states must support leaders in becoming data-literate and what steps they can take. Throughout this webinar, you’ll learn what it really means to be data-literate in practice by hearing from a former school leader and instructional coach who now works at New Leaders, where they help build the data literacy skills of leaders from the classroom to the school and system levels. You’ll also learn what leading states are doing to support administrator data literacy and what your state can do to support you.

You can register for the webinar here.

Besides both of these webinars, we will also be announcing the three winners of the Student Video Contest by 10/31, so be sure to stay tuned to that.

As we close another National Principals Month, NASSP wants to once again thank all of our nation’s principals for their dedication and tireless effort in supporting our nation’s students. You can see all the highlights from NPM by using #ThankAPrincipal, and the website will remain live throughout the year. Thank you again for all of your hard work, and we look forward to celebrating your accomplishments again in 2019!
