In the lead-up to Ignite, let’s take a look at some of the speakers who have recently made headlines with their contributions to the education landscape.

Nurturing Leadership Potential

Nick Davies, an assistant principal with Vancouver Public Schools, is known for his innovative approach to leadership. Recently, he shared his insights on “Principal Matters,” a podcast hosted by Will Parker, executive director of the Oklahoma Association of Secondary Principals and the Oklahoma Middle Level Educators Association. In an episode titled “Never Stop Learning,” Parker and Davies discuss strategies for continuous leadership growth, a conversation they’ll both continue at Ignite 2023.

Dr. Marcus Belin, an NASSP board member, and Cindy Sholtys-Cromwell, the 2021 Digital Principal of the Year, recently shared their tips to motivate staff in Education Week. Creating New Pathways for Students

The 2022 Colorado Principal of the Year Bill Summers enables his students to pursue their ambitions through creative new curricula offered in various pathways. In his Ignite session, Summers will share practical insights for how school leaders can replicate his internship program that offers more than 200 internships annually to high school students across three school districts thanks to 180 county workplace partners.


Championing Students’ Mental Health

Assistant Principal Jennifer Bitton of Utah’s Alpine district is making strides in supporting students’ mental health. Her advice on creating supportive spaces, featured in Education Week, will be a topic of discussion at Ignite 2023, offering participants an innovative response to student stress and ideas for suicide prevention.
